Pre-baccalaureate Program:

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at NIU offers a major leading to the B.S. degree in Chemistry. Undergraduate students seeking a Standard High School Certificate in Chemistry must declare a major in Chemistry.

Chemistry major emphasis 2 (Secondary Teaching)

Suggested 4-year plan for secondary teaching. Includes a physics endorsement.

Post-baccalaureate Program:

Entitlement only. (Available only to students with a minimum B.S. degree in Chemistry)

The Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at NIU also offers programs leading to the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. The department does not presently offer a degree program in Chemical Education.
